Why Happiness Alone Can't Sustain You!

One of the happiest moments in life was when I realized that life was not defined by happiness but by joy in Jesus. -The Blueprint-

Happiness is such a controversial word in my opinion because many people find themselves imprisoned by the meaning of this word. Truly if we were to analyze happiness we would realize that it is a state of being not an absolute. Happiness is circumstantial at best. 

Consequently, it is a feeling solely based on conditions but it is never concrete. If you were to show me 5 people that were happy...I could show you 5 more that said sometime in the day they were happy also but because of difficulty of events or circumstances out of their control they are no longer happy.

Happiness is an emotion that is always changing. It lacks depth and the deeply planted roots needed in order to build a stable foundation upon.   What do you mean?  Thanks for asking... Happiness says in essences if I feel happy today, if everything around me is conducive to my happiness, then guess what?... I feel happy today. But by some chance my circumstances don't provide me an atmosphere that is conducive to my happiness. ..then somebody better watch out, now I am on the warpath because I am not happy today.

Happiness is predicated on condition not facts. We may not feel happy today but God is still good. Fact not condition.

Consider this? We can wake up in the morning and hear the birds chirping,  the angels singing because we feel happy today.  However, if life hands us a plate of disappointments then there is a good chance that we will no longer feel happy. That is chilling right? We can't build our proverbial houses on happiness because eventually they will colasp.

The conditions of life can and will alter our attitudes and possibly rob us of our happiness if we will allow our feelings to dictate to us the direction for our lives. The seesaw, (The Feeling of Happiness) has claimed many marriages, friendships and has weakend our relationships with God because the feeling of euphoria that was once present when we received Jesus is no longer there.

Have you ever heard people say, "I don't feel saved or we have just fallen out of love?" Can I say this? Love and Salvation are not feelings they are choices. We choose to love our spouses or not. We choose to live submitted and consecrated lives to God or not.

Nehemiah had to remind the Israelites when Ezra was reading the word of God that it wasn't a time to weep but it was a time to rejoice. He had to remind them that their strength was found in the joy of the Lord and that His words are spirit and they are alive.

We too must realize that when I am happy God has my back, when my enemies are present God has my back and when I am feeling sad God has my back.   We must realize that we are not defined by our happiness. When we dont feel happy we are still strong because we have His joy, evelasting joy! It doesn't matter about our conditions because God never, ever changes, he is always absolute.

God have you heard,  how awesome you are?

The sun shines so bright it warms my body like gramma's apple pie on a cold winter day,

God have you heard the news, how awesome you are?

Every morning like clock-work, I awake from last nights slumber, with no power of my own to control the clock of life,

God have you heard how awesome you are?

Every star in the galaxy has been named, every hair on our heads have been numbered.

God have you heard how awesome you are?

Rain comes down from the sky with the right amount of water to feed your creation,

God how awesome you are,

I can't help but give you the praise for mercies given unto me even though I don't deserve them.

The word awesome is to low of a praise for a God as big as you are,

How Awesome, how awesome, how awesome!

Great Possibilities

Life at times can seem problematic,

Everyday redundant, as if you are on a hamster's wheel,
Going around and around in circles,
Same routine, same place, same bat channel,
Reluctant to change the way we think, change the way we see, change the way we feel, complacency has stopped us from building the character that God has ordained for us,
And though we are filled to capacity, overflowing we find ourselves gripped by fear, stopped in the midst of our overflow, weakened, should of, would of, could of are the lyrics to our favorite love song,
 Left with dreams unrealized because we are too weak to tap into the source in order to extract the oil,
What if we said today that we would do something different, instead of running from disappointment we would run towards it in order to change the outcome of our situation?
 What if we would capture the elusive and take hold of the proverbial wings of the eagle and fly and sore to a place where God would be our help?
What if this was the day that we told the devil, "Enough is enough, I'm tired of living below my standard and I will trust and believe what God has said I could be and who I am becoming!"  
What if this is the day that I make a stand and no longer become the victim but celebrate in victory because I am fearfully and wonderfully made?  
What if I made the decision to change the course of my win. And set my sails to explore the oceans of progress.
What if I took control of my life and broke the influence of people and instead of pleasing them I made a conscious decision to please God. 
It is your time to shine, your time to mature...what if?

Getting To The Polls

I hope you all are getting to the polls to exercise your civil duties. Our country has had a rich history when it comes to politics. So, I hope you all are going to vote even in light of some recent events and decisions made by our President. I don't care what party you vote for but just do it!! This is an very important election approaching us in November. The stakes are very high. It is time to make change and stand up and be counted in the 99%. We must asked of the wealthiest of all Americans to pay their fair share! I don't know what party you are affiliated with but vote.  We as the Middle Class must be sharp and watchful. We must not go to sleep at the switch like we did in 2010 and now most recent Wisconsin. Wake up sleeping giant, Wake up!

Hand In Hand

I went, She went,
To a place, a destination prepared just for us to meet,
Though I never knew her,
She went, a college student sent, planted by God, on a mission to shine,
I went, escaping the madness of life to a place of calm and solace,
I finally had my own, a place to call home,
Chosen were we,
I found my calm on a snowy February day in blizzard like conditions,
Knee high up to my thigh in snow,
But not even a blizzard could hold me back from my place of destiny,
Short in stature, beautiful jet black hair down her back, smile that could replace the sun,
Rolled into the place of destiny around about December, you see!
She arrived 2 months earlier than me,
I said, "this had to be destiny", she lived three floors over top of me!
She never knew my name, never thought one time that destiny had chosen her to be,
But I understood the time was now,
If I was going to wake up to sun shine for the rest of my life,
I had to do something, I've never done,
I had to say something, I've never said,
When God presented me with a shot,
I went, She went,
We went together!
